Fairfax has that "small town" feeling where people know their neighbors. There are old buildings that were built in the early 1900's. This town has a bit of the old "western" feel, with restaurants & small businesses.
A cute park which hosts many town events is in the downtown area with Redwood Trees majestically sheltering it. Homes are in the downtown flat area and throughout the hills of Fairfax. This was a very popular place in the 1970's where many celebrity Rock and Roll bands lived in the hills. The town still carries a reminder of that era as it is a bit funky yet fun.
